After serving Muscatine, Hot Spot Tattoo & Piercing moved to Coralville, IA where it spent over a decade building an even stronger reputation. Today, the shop is proudly located in downtown Iowa City. One of the original brothers continues to carry the vision of Hot Spot forward as the Owner, Tattoo Artist, and Piercer.

Jerry Mendoza began his tattoo career 25 years ago, drawing inspiration for his art from the vibrant streets of Chicago, IL and Oakland, CA. His journey through tagging, painting, and airbrushing naturally led him to tattooing in Davenport, Muscatine, and the Iowa City / Coralville area, where he has become a notable artist among the tattoo shops in Iowa.
